Training is provided by Captain Jeff Slesinger. Captain Slesinger has over 30-years experience operating ASD, twin and single-screw tugs, and training new and experienced operators. He has conducted effective training in both onboard and simulator environments. His systematic and structured approach accommodates candidates of all backgrounds—from the new operator who has never laid hands on a set of tug controls to the experienced operator learning new tug-handling or assist techniques. His book ASD Tugs, Thrust & Azimuth, Learning to drive a Z-drive was published in the fall of 2010 and a 2nd revised edition is due out in late 2018.
